Poetry - HAIKU
HAIKU
“The fragile mind
bleeds out, but doesn’t
die quietly.”
“My madness is
fooled by the treachery
of insanity.”
“Dusk fades towards night
and the black swirls shift
- gorgeous murmurations.”
“Never ending ripples
disperse through the shallows
and the ducklings bob!”
“Time ticks on and on,
never stops its relentless journey
its past and it’s gone.”
“The voice calls for me
again and again and again
it echoes my thoughts.”
“That thief always laughs
and cackles and crows
_ evil Magpie!”
“The shadows stretch
as the full moon arcs across
- night sky flickers.”
“The Christmas tree
radiates glad tidings to
everyone today.”
“Lights flicker on the tree.
Colours show their splendour.
Merry Christmas to all.”
“Silence drives me,
towards my raging demons
-that sound deafening!”
“Strong intensity.
The light blinding my vision
now it is too late.”
“Soldiers march onward
stench of death awaits
a futile journey.”
“Happiness and joy
Rising sun awakens
content today.”
“Dark brown hops ferment
Sickly juices combining
The devils tipple.”
“Intensity is strong
Overwhelming at times
But I am stronger.”
“Confidence is high
Despite laziness of youth
Lacking in gumption!”
“What stares back at me?
A reflection of innocence
It is I, younger.”

A selection of short Japanese poems called HAIKU. They are meant to be three lines only and only seventeen syllables with five syllables in lines one and three and seven syllable in the middle line. However because of language and translation differences there is allowed fluidity and artistic licence to vary. The important part is it's strength in such few words.
