RAIN
RAIN
Oh! How I love to watch and feel the rain,
As droplets dribble down my window pane.
Like a snails trail, that remains behind.
Mucous-Grey, just like the clouds in the sky.
Petrichor scent that wafts in the breeze.
Starlings all murmuring, as the rain hits the trees.
Then it chutters through the gutters with pulsating sound.
Exploding like geysers as the drops hit the ground.
Wind flushes my face, then stabs at my eyes.
Tears from the stinging – like a million cries!
The pearl orbs keep falling, upon the scorched earth.
Magpies are cackling, with mischief and mirth.
Nature at its finest, when it washes away,
The dust and the cobwebs, to begin a new day.

A poem about Rain. We certainly could do with some lately.
